David Vaughan (died c. 1720) was a Hudson's Bay Company captain who sailed with George Berley under the overall command of the explorer James Knight on an ill-fated expedition to discover the Northwest Passage. Capt. David Vaughan was aboard the ''Discovery'' with Knight, the expedition leader. We know that they were shipwrecked at Marble Island, along with the ''Albany'' and Capt. Berley. David Vaughan (architect)
David Montgomery Vaughan (c.1810–c.1892) was a Welsh architect, surveyor, land agent and diarist. Vaughan began his career working as a carpenter at Stradey Castle in Llanelli. He began practising as an architect around 1840, and became land agent for major estates in South Wales including: Ffynnonwen, Newton, Llanharry, St Fagans, Cottrell and Pendoylan. Vaughan is best known as the architect of Bridgend Town Hall, erected in 1843 and demolished in 1971. The building was in a Greek Doric style and made the town of Bridgend the owner of one of the most impressive civic buildings in Wales. An earlier project was Bonvilston House, together with its lodge (which still stands) and estate buildings for John Bassett. and also Fairwater House in Cardiff. David Vaughan (February 3, 1822 – February 28, 1890) was an American farmer, mechanic, and politician. Born in North Wales, Vaughan emigrated with his parents to the United States in 1831 and settled in Remsen, New York. Vaughan went to public school in Remsen, New York. In 1864, he moved to the town of Burns, Wisconsin, Burns, La Crosse County, Wisconsin. He was a farmer and mechanic. Vaughan served as justice of the peace for the town of Burns. Vaughan served in the Wisconsin State Assembly in 1887 and was a Republican Party (United States), Republican. David Vaughan (8 May 1944 – 4 December 2003) was a British psychedelic artist who formed the design team Binder, Edwards & Vaughan (BEV), and the father of actress Sadie Frost. He obtained commissions for his psychedelic painted furniture from Princess Margaret, did work for the Beatles in the early 1960s, worked for Expo 67 and Lord John in Carnaby Street, while photographer David Bailey used his work for a series of posters. David Owen Vaughan (born 18 February 1983) is a Welsh footballer who plays as a midfielder for side Nantwich Town, and is assistant manager of Crewe Alexandra's under-18 team. Vaughan previously played for Crewe Alexandra, where he spent seven years between 2000 and 2007. David Glyn Vaughan OBE (23 October 1962 – 9 February 2023) was a climate scientist at the British Antarctic Survey. His research focus is the role of ice sheets in the Earth system and the societal threat of climate change and rising sea levels. He is a co-ordinating Lead Author of the IPCC Fourth Assessment Report. His research work includes the mapping of the bed under Pine Island Glacier and the discovery of a subglacial volcano. Between March 2009 and November 2013 Vaughan led the EU Ice2sea project, which focussed on sea-level rise arising from ice-sheet and glacier melt. Vaughan graduated from Churchill College, Cambridge with a degree in Natural Sciences in 1984. He has written over 20 books, self-published since the mid-1990s, and spoken in more than 25 countries.
